AUGUST 13Â is International Lefthanders Day! The holiday was first observed on this day in 1976 as an effort to promote awareness of the inconveniences facing left-handers in a predominantly right-handed world. It is often speculated that lefties are right-brain dominant – the side of the brain linked to non-verbal thinking, artistic ability, and creative skills.
