One Event, Four Fairs: The 53rd Annual Ann Arbor Art Fair
It may be one of the hottest summers on record, but artists and art enthusiasts from all over the world are gathering in the streets of downtown Ann Arbor this week for one of Michigan’s favorite annual events – the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
This year’s 53rd Ann Arbor Art Fair consists of four independent award-winning art fairs (The Original, the South University Art Fair, the Summer Art Fair and the State Street Area Art Fair) in one, and will exhibit the work of more than 1,000 artists. Now through Saturday, fair-goers can “meet the artists, enjoy the city and soak up the experience” at this highly anticipated event.
As a Michigan-based arts advocate, Park West Gallery’s mission aligns with what the Ann Arbor Art Fair also strives to accomplish — to connect artists with the public in an exciting way and to increase art appreciation in the community. The fair exposes more than 500,000 people to art each summer, so, much like with our newly launched MIGreatArtist contest, emerging artists will be given a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity to a considerable audience.
