ARTiFact: He loved to sail and paint the water. In 1892 he discovered St. Tropez while on a yachting trip; he bought a home on the island (which he named La Hune), where he often invited fellow-artists such as Henri Matisse, Paul Cezanne and Pierre Bonnard.
