Artist Peter Max Receives Preserve Putnam Award for Charity Work
BREWSTER, NY — World-famous pop artist Peter Max and his wife Mary appeared at the Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, N.Y. to be honored for a life’s work in charity.
“I think this is why we are here. There’s a line that comes out of India, I got that from the swamis, ‘Love all, serve all.’ We’re here to love all and serve all,” said Max. “And the more people we can serve the better.”
His wife Mary Max, a board member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, advocates animal rights. “Animals are living beings who want to live their lives just as much as we do,” said Mary Max.
Max and his wife toured the collection of rare and endangered early American farm animals at the Tilly Foster Farm Museum, before receiving the preserved Putnam Award for a life of charitable giving.
