Francisco Fleurimond
Urban contemporary artist Francisco Fleurimond shares Picasso’s birthday, looks like Basquiat, and paints like Frida. His vibrant realism utilizes texture to invite people closer, sometimes to even touch the work. Fleurimond defies categorization and is erasing boundaries, and the art world is taking notice.
Personal History
Born on October 25, 1994, in New York City, Fleurimond moved to the Pocono Mountains when he was eleven. It gave him extreme experiences in living and understanding both the urban and rural ways of life.
READ MORE +Fearing he would be a starving artist, his mother urged him not to move to Florida. Fleurimond was able to make a living as a truck driver while simultaneously creating and showcasing his art. Collectors around the world are taking notice of the vibrancy, textures, and human connection offered in each one of his stunning works of art.
The self-taught artist began drawing anime characters when he was growing up, but soon progressed into realism. Fleurimond always had a fascination with humans and how everyone is simultaneously living out their own experiences. Today, his process is very free flowing, starting with an initial thought, he lets the painting dictate how it is going to flow. In addition to bold colors, patterns, and the use of people’s faces as an examination of human form, one of the constants in Francisco’s art is texture. He believes that art should be touched in order to experience it fully with multiple senses.
Francisco Fleurimond is on a mission to build connections through art. He lives to create authentic and unique ways of bringing people from diverse backgrounds together. His art helps him connect with people and understand how others see the world, understanding that two individuals can look at one of his works of art and have different perspectives on it. This interaction opens up a crucial door for human connection to occur.
