Local media meet Autumn de Forest
Autumn de Forest had a whirlwind visit to Park West Gallery last week, and she kept busy meeting with press and making the rounds for television and radio interviews.
It’s easy to understand what makes this painter’s story so unique and intriguing for media: she just recently celebrated her twelfth birthday.
Autumn is the youngest painter Park West Gallery has ever dealt with – and that’s by about 20 years, says gallery founder and CEO Albert Scaglione. Before Autumn, he said that the youngest artists the gallery had ever signed on were in their thirties.
Age doesn’t – and shouldn’t – matter because whether an artist is young or old, the quality of work is what matters, said Albert. “Why would I discriminate if the work speaks for itself?” he said.
Autumn and Albert sat down with a few local TV stations, including CBS Detroit’s Michigan Matters program with Carol Cain.
The second segment of this interview is here.
The pair were also guests on “Live in the D“ with hosts Guy Gordon and Karen Drew, and the local ABC station’s Channel 7 Action News, ran a segment introducing the accomplished young painter. Â
News and magazine reporters were also interested in her story and – as always – she eagerly shared with them her joy of painting and learning and … painting some more. Here, her story is featured in a C&G news post.
To top it off, Alisa Zee talked with Autumn and Albert on the host’s weekly Metro Networks “Sunday Edition” radio show, which aired Nov. 17 on five Detroit radio stations – and a total 75 Michigan radio stations.

Some of Autumn’s work is displayed at Park West Gallery for the next few weeks. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Saturday.
